To order your BNP Paribas Fortis Business Prepaid Card, you must be the holder, co-holder or authorised proxy of a current professional BNP Paribas Fortis account.

Ordering a Business Prepaid Card is quick and easy:

  • via your relationship manager

Yes it is. Starting from orders for 20 cards or more, we will send them to you by the bunch.

As a card holder, you will be able to access your user account:

  • Manage your card:
    • load your card;
    • keep track of your card activities;
    • block your card;
    • request a new pincode;
    • designate a card holder.

As a card holder, via your user account, you will be able to:

  • Manage your card.
    • see your transactions;
    • blocking your card;
    • request a new pincode.

Card holders will receive their login information via e-mail.

The login name for card holders is the same as the e-mail address which you have submitted for your user account.

Card manager:

  • you will receive an e-mail with the contact information, your login information and a temporary password;
  • you can then access your user account and choose a new password;
  • once you have logged in, you will be able to see all of the cards that you have ordered.

Card holder:

  • as soon as the card manager has assigned a card to you via your e-mail address, you will be sent an e-mail with the contact information and a temporary password. The login name is your e-mail address;
  • you may choose to replace your temporary password;
  • you will then see all of the cards that have been assigned to you.

You can access and load your card via your user account. You can select 1 or more cards to load with the same or varying amounts. You will be provided with the information, the bank account and a structured message needed to carry out a transfer. One day later the card will be ready to use.

The minimum amount is 1 euro. You can load a maximum of EUR 5000 onto your card each time.

In your user account, you can see the balance and transaction history for each card for a period of 6 months.

Your BNP Paribas Fortis Prepaid Card can be used all over the world wherever the Mastercard network is available:

  • at all merchants (over 28 million terminals)
  • at ATMs (over 1.5 million)
  • for all your online purchases.

Exceptions: The BNP Paribas Fortis Business Prepaid Card cannot be used on certain tol-roads and motorways, for beverage dispensers or at certain parking facilities. In order to be able to buy gas at a gas station, the Business Prepaid Card must have a minimum balance of 125 euro.

The amount of your purchase will be deducted from the available balance on you card. With the purchase or withdrawal of cash in a currency other than the euro, you will charged a 1.6% transaction fee for exchange costs.

Yes, with your BNP Paribas Fortis Business Prepaid Card you can withdraw cash at all ATMs that have the MasterCard logo (over 1.5 million worldwide). Per day, you can withdraw up to EUR 625 on the condition that this amount is available on your card and the ATM does not set a lower limit. A cash withdrawal within the eurozone is charged with a fee. If a cash withdrawal is made in a currency other than the euro, you will be charged an exchange fee on the amount. These costs will also be deducted from your available balance on the card. For an overview of all the costs involved please see our price list.

No, this is only possible when you have received a new card an you have blocked your former BNP Paribas Fortis Business Prepaid Card.

If you entered the wrong pincode in three consecutive attempts, your pincode will be blocked for security reasons. You can request your pincode to be unblocked by clicking on "reset pincode" in your user account. The card will then automatically be activated.

In your user account, you can request the pincode to be sent to you by mail to the address you have supplied.

Then immediately call Prepaid STOP on +32 (0)2 250 16 01 (available 24/7) so we can cancel your card. Prepaid STOP will verify the last transactions on your Business Prepaid Card, in order to determine whether any fraud has taken place and where necessary initiate the fraud process. You can then replace your card by going to your user account and requesting a new card by clicking on “replace card”.

If you do not want to replace your card, click “cancel card” in your user account. By doing this, any money that was on your Business Prepaid Card will be repaid. If you do not have a business current account, please contact BNP Paribas Fortis.

In all cases, we recommend that you notify the police as soon as possible of the loss or theft. You will receive your new card, with the same PIN code, in the post within 7 days. The balance from your old card will be automatically credited to your new card.

The cost for replacing your card is €8 and this will be debited from your available balance.

Please try to ask for your card to be returned at the office concerned.

The month and year of expiry is stated on your BNP Paribas Fortis Business Prepaid card. The BNP Paribas Fortis Prepaid Business Card is valid for 5 years.

If the merchant has entered a higher amount at the payment terminal than your available balance, the following message will appear: "insufficient balance" You can compensate the difference with another method of payment. With cash, for example. The merchant must agree to divide the total amount in two partial payments.

You may cancel your card at any time.

  • Login to your user account to cancel your card.
  • Please call us at + 32 (0)2 433 42 88 (Mon-Fri 07-22 hrs; Sat 09-17 hrs). The cancellation of your card also automatically means termination of your contract. We recommend that you use the remaining balance on your card before you cancel the card.

Once you decided to cancel your card, the remaining amount on your card will automatically be transferred to your current BNP Paribas Fortis account, if you have one. If you do not have an account with us, please contact us.

Thanks to new contact-free technology, you can now pay without having to enter your pincode. All you need to do is swipe your card through the card reader and you have paid instantly. This technology is only available at card readers with the contact-free logo.

  • The first time you use contact-free payment, you will need to enter your pincode as usual.
  • After that, you can make contact-free payments of up to EUR 25 by swiping your card through the reader.
  • Once you have reached the limit of EUR 50 in payments,
  • we will ask you, for security reasons, to enter your pincode again for the next payment.
  • Now you will be able to pay contact-free again.

A number of security measures have been implemented for contact-free payments. Without entering your pincode, you can only make payments of up to EUR 25, for example. Also, as soon as you have reached the contact-free payment limit of EUR 50, you will be required to enter your pincode again with your next purchase.

Payment is possible if the distance to the payment terminal is limited to a few centimetres. We recommend, of course, that you manage all your cards wisely and not leave them lying around.

No, it is not possible to change the pincode of your BNP Paribas Fortis Prepaid Card.
